The patient is a very fit middle aged male who presents with chronic achiness and pain throughout his body. He has had this for several years.
In this case, it does’t make sense to test for specific joint or muscle dysfunction since the effects are global. This is an instance where a holistic analysis comes in handy. I relied on my Applied Kinesiology and Neuroemotional Technique training:
1. Ligament Stretch test was positive, which is suggestive of adrenal fatigue. This is a functional test where a strong muscle will inhibit after tractioning any joint in the body. Also the Adrenal Reflex Points over the nerve roots evoked a positive muscle reflex response. These findings were negated when the patient was exposed to a specific Dietary Supplement, in this case Adaptocrine by Apex Energetics.
2. Anaerobic muscle testing revealed that a strong postural (predominantly red fiber) muscle fatigued within three consecutive slow pumps. This correlated this with an overly-acidic mouth with Oral pH of 6.2 (it should be more basic, around 7.0). These findings were negated with the energetic application of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, suggesting that this may be a helpful dietary addition.
3. An active Neuroemotional Complex was evoked through incongruent patient self-statements pertaining to positive self-image.
There is a fascinating muscle-testing phenomena where a muscle fascilitation will inhibit (ie a muscle will become “weak”) if the nervous system is “short circuited” by something – in this case, a statement that is not congruent between the limbic system (ie lizard brain), the mamillian brain (ie the feeling brain) and the cortex (ie the thinking brain).
We went through several rounds of neuroemotional Technique (NET), a mind-body system that utilizes the acupuncture meridian system via correlated emotions.
A follow up was scheduled and we will see clearer at that point what direction to take the patient care. It is not uncommon to then find more specific structural or functional deficits to address once some of the layers of imbalance are addressed. This is also why we have other specialists at Innate Chiropractic, offering more comprehensive care in any of these fields. this includes Nutrition Response Testing, Somatic Experience, Z-Health, acupuncture and massage. We work as a team to get the patient the results they seek.
