Case Study 1:
I recently saw an active middle aged woman with chronic Lt knee pain and swelling below her patella. She had worked with a PT on strengthening her quads and loosening her Peroneals. But pain persisted.
I tested her Muscles: Lt Gluteus Max and QL were blown out. Both sides of her abdominal Obliques were blown out. Overly firing lumbar and neck extensors were inhibiting these.
I released the neck and low back with #activereleasetechnique (ART), #FAKTR and #myofascialdecompression (cupping). This allowed the abs and Glutes to fire. #rocktape to neck and low back for support.
When Glutes are off, and the foot hits the ground, it is a closed system where the knee takes the brunt of the dysfunctional pattern.
